Q1) Can you tell me something about IIFT? 

The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) was set up in 1963 by the Government of India as an autonomous organization to help professionalize the country's foreign trade management and increase exports by developing human resources; generating, analyzing and disseminating data; and conducting research.It has two campuses, one in Delhi and the other one in Kolkata. 

Q2) How good is IIFT? 

IIFT is one of the premier B-schools in India.  Both IIFT-Delhi and IIFT Kolkata are counted among AAA grade B-schools. 

Q3) Which B-schools accept IIFT Entrance test scores? 

The test score of this entrance examination is used for admission for programmes offered at IIFT's New Delhi and Kolkata Campus. 

Q4) What is the last date to apply? When is it conducted? Is it an online exam? 

It is usually conducted in the month of November. This year, the entrance test is on 27th Nov, 2016. No, it is not an online exam.

Q6) What is the flagship course offered at IIFT?

MBA - IB is considered to be the flagship course of IIFT.

Q7) What is IIFT's MBA-IB Programme?

The MBA (IB) is a general management course with special emphasis on International Business. This means, besides doing a general MBA (as is done in other B-Schools), IIFT students are exposed to the international perspectives of various subjects by virtue of their doing courses like international marketing, international finance, international strategy and the like. 

Q8) Can you give me details of the MBA-IB Programme? 

Intake – 220 *(New Delhi Campus), 140*(Kolkata Campus) 

Duration - 2 years 

Total Tution Fees: 15,20,000/-  for General/OBC category students and For SC/ST/DA category students 50% concession.

Eligibility - A graduate from any discipline. Graduation final year students can also apply for admission.

Q9) Can you give me Placement details of the MBA-IB Program? 

The average salary for the 2013-15 batch of MBA-IB Programme was 14.54 lacs pa, with the highest offer of 24 lacs pa. The average international salary offered was USD 110000 p.a. 

Q10) What kind of jobs are offered to students of IIFT? 

The jobs offered to IIFT graduates vary widely. A variety of profiles are offered including Equity Analysis, International Marketing, Investment Banking, Derivatives Trading, Sales & Marketing and many others in different domains like Strategy, Corporate Finance, Treasury, Supply Chain Management, Risk Management etc. 

The top recruiters this year(2016) were
Amazon, Cognizant Business Consulting, JP Morgan, Vodafone, IDFC Bank, Wipro, HCL, ICICI Bank etc.

Q11) Is there any Management Quota for MBA-IB Programme?
 

There is no management quota for admission to MBA-IB at IIFT. 

Q12) Is there any provision for reservation at IIFT for MBA-IB Programme? 

Yes, There is a provision of reservation of seats at IIFT for SC, ST, OBC and Physically Challenged Candidates.

Q14) Can you give me some suggestions on how to Prepare for IIFT's Entrance Test? 

Except for the section on General Awareness, all the other sections of IIFT get well covered with a good preparation for CAT. However, it would be advisable for a student to work on his/her speed mathematics as some of the questions under Data Interpretation tend to be calculation intensive. 

While preparing for the GK section in IIFT entrance test, a student should focus on issues related to national & international events, world bodies, and foreign trade-related information.
