Q1) Can you tell me something about XAT examination ? 

The Xavier Aptitude Test is an all-India test conducted by Xavier Association of Management Institutes (XAMI) as an entrance exam for admission to the post graduate programs in management courses of several management institutes all over India. It is a paper-based Test.

Q2) Which B-Schools accept the XAT score ? 

The following is the list of the B-Schools that accept XAT score for admission into their Post graduate program in Management:

Q3) When is it conducted ? Is it an online exam ? 

It is usually conducted in the month of January. This time, the entrance test is being conducted on January 8th, 2017 from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm. No, it is not an online exam. 

Q4)What is the last date for registering for XAT? How much is the test registration fee? 

The last date for registering for XAT exam is November 30th, 2016. The registration fee is Rs 1600+300 (PER XLRI COURSE) . The above mentioned date is labelled as last date without any kind of late fee. For students who still miss out on this late, they would have to pay extra sum of 400 as late fees (PLUS A SUM OF 200/- EXTRA PER XLRI COURSE). The date for that is 11th December, 2016.

Q6)Apart from registering for XAT, do I need to separately apply to B-school programs? 

Yes, apart from registering for XAT, you need to separately apply to B-school programs. The Registration fee for each Institute and for each programme is Rs. 1000/- For Institute registration and payment, please visit the particular Institute's website

YES, the test pattern of this year’s XAT has some changes.
   
Q9) which test centres conduct XAT Entrance Test?

Agartala, Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Amritsar, Bengaluru, Berhampur, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cochin, Coimbatore, Cuttack, Dehradun, Delhi, Goa, Greater Noida, Gurgaon (Gurugram), Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jabalpur, Jaipur, Jammu, Jamshedpur, Kanpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mangalore, Mumbai, Nagpur, Nasik, Noida, Patna, Pune, Raipur, Ranchi, Rourkela, Sambalpur, Surat, Tiruchirapalli, Trivandrum, Udaipur, Vadodara, Varanasi, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam. 

Apart from these cities, XAT 2017 will also be conducted at two international cities- Dubai and Kathmandu. 

Q10) What is the eligibility criteria for writing XAT Entrance Test ? 

The candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized university or institute. The duration of the programme should be minimum 3 years. Final year graduation students will also be eligible to apply provided they complete their final exam by June 10, 2017. 

Q11) What is the criteria followed by the B-schools for shortlisting for the PI round? 

As per the XAT 2017 selection procedure at the participating B-schools, the shortlisted candidates have to appear for Group Discussion or Essay Writing and Personal Interview rounds. Some institutes may also conduct procedures like Group Activity or Case Discussion.
